Handblock printing is one of the oldest printing techniques in the world. A craft that has been passed down from generation to generation. Experienced craftsmen carve the design into hard wood to make the blocks. These wooden blocks are the essential tools for printing. They are dipped in colour and the pattern is stamped on the fabric with skillful precision. A separate block is used for each color.Irregularities in printing are an essential part of this process.

• wash separately, preferably by hand - colors can bleed and stain other textiles

• wash before first use (especially with light colored clothing) to remove ink residues from the print

• first wash: add a teaspoon each of salt and vinegar to the water to set the colors

• use mild detergent
